Bay window replacement in Reigate and Redhill
The canted bay is the front of almost every late-Victorian and Edwardian semi between Reigate and Earlswood. Replacing one is a structural job as much as a window job.

Why bays need a survey
Many bays in Redhill's railway-era streets and on the Earlswood side carry the wall above on their frames. Take the old timber frame out and the load has to go somewhere. The surveyor checks for a lintel or posts, and where support is needed it is priced after the survey rather than guessed here.
Two common choices
| Window | Size (mm) | Supplied and fitted, inc VAT |
|---|---|---|
| uPVC flush canted bay, three units | about 2000 x 1400 | £3,380 to £5,430 |
| Slimline aluminium canted bay, three units | about 2000 x 1400 | £4,540 to £7,735 |
A uPVC flush bay keeps the look of a painted timber bay and suits a semi outside the conservation areas. Slim aluminium suits the wider bays on 1930s houses, where the original frames were often steel.
Sills and brickwork
Old bay sills rot from the corners, and brick arches over the side lights sometimes drop. Both are survey items. Removing the old frames and making good inside and out are part of the fitted price.
